1:15 This is such an idiotic thing. acid + Base = water + salt.
Why not just wash it it water then ?
Sometimes these stupid tricks are mere silly things.

Using normal salt in your dishwasher or washing machine clogs up the drains. Use dishwasher salt instead.

I just use a hair catcher in the tub. No need for a snake.

You should never use vinegar in washer or dishwashers, it breaks down the rubber seals AND voids manufacturer warranties

@Shawn Sisler yup, we use the baking soda and vinegar technique on a lot of stuff. Fumes of certain chemicals can actually trigger issues for those with certain diseases/disorders. We use peroxide and soap for the floors. I've never done a mix of soap and baking soda before. Do you let it try and then scrub, or spray it with anything?

For some of it yes, but vinegar and baking soda do some things much better without nasty fumes. Vinegar breaks up grease on stoves and leaves no streaks, it also cleans windows, mirrors and such much better than glass cleaner and leaves no streaks, it even takes smoker's build up off walls. Baking soda and dish soap will break down tub rings faster than Comet or Ajax, and it will break up rings and nastiness in toilets. We moved into our first house and the clawfoot tub had a nasty soap scum build up in it and nothing took it out until my mom told me to try a paste of Dawn and baking soda. It worked, and the toilet... Makes me sick to think about it. It was brown, literally brown, from the water level down, gross, but I shut the water off to it, drained it, and soaked it overnight with baking soda and vinegar to the water level and after a vigorous scrubbing that junk just broke off, it was a combination of hard water and rust. Took 2 nights to get it all, but the toilet looked like new after I was done and I just put baking soda in the tank 2 times a week afterwards and never had a problem... Landlord loved us. lol Saved him tons of money.
